Birthday Freebies!!!!

Every year, we all have a birthday…and sometimes on that birthday we happen to go visit a business that likes to help us celebrate…through a discount, a free cookie, etc.

This year for fun for my birthday in July, I decided (on a whim) to see what kinds of free things I could get for my birthday…and there are TONS of food related items you can get on (and around) your birthday! I also learned through my research that you have to plan ahead sometimes, because you can’t just ‘show up’ and get a free something…usually have to have to be a member of the store/restaurants/etc frequent visitors club or program.

What this all means is my lack of planning (and knowledge) turns into your easy-to-follow guide for making the most out of ‘freebies’ for your birthday! My goal is to provide a list of places/items/instructions for you to be able to get your birthday freebies! There are plenty more than what is listed here, but these are the places we regularly go to!

NOTE: This list is current as of the publish date of this blog. I’ll keep it up to date periodically, but I can’t guarantee any information in here as businesses are always changing their programs/offerings.

Starbucks – Join Starbucks Rewards at least 7 days before your birthday, fill in your birthday in your profile after you sign up, and make at least one Star-earning transaction. All terms are in the Starbucks Rewards Terms of Use.

Sprinkles Cupcakes – Join Sprinkles Perks and make at least one visit/purchase (the year of your birthday) to get one (or more) free cupcakes. How many you get will depend on what Tier you are (based on how much you visit). The Birthday Perk should be loaded into your account the Wednesday prior to your birthday and be good for 30 days.

Firehouse Subs – Unfortunately Firehouse Subs is no longer offering free birthday subs with new reward sign-ups. If you already have a rewards account that was created prior to 7/8/2024, you are eligible. Make sure you have your birthday in your profile and you have to have made a purchase in the prior 6 months to your birthday. The free sub is only available the day before, the day of, and the day after your birthday! Details are in the Firehouse Rewards Terms.

Jimmy John’s – Join the Freaky Fast Rewards to get a “Birthday Surprise” (typically an 8″ sub). You also get a free sandwich after your first order when you sign up! On your birthday they will send you an email with a birthday reward. The reward is typically good for 30 days after your birthday. They don’t have any info about how long you need to be signed up in the program to get the freebie, so make sure you do it at least a month before and have made a purchase (and gotten your free sub for your first purchase!).

Panera Bread – Join MyPanera to get a free bakery item on your birthday. The reward should come in an email or in the app (not clear, but will update it next time around for us). Make sure you fill out the optional birthday when you sign up or update it in your profile!

Rita’s Italian Ice – Join the Rewards program and earn a free small Italian ice, frozen custard, or gelati. Since most Rita’s are seasonal, you get a half-birthday reward if your birthday falls between October and February and your preferred Rita’s is a seasonal shop. Details are in the Terms and Conditions. You can only do this via the Rita’s App on the iPhone App Store or Google Play. You have to sign up at least 7 days before your birthday and you only get 7 days from your birthday to use it!

Red Robin – Yum! Join the Red Robin Royalty program to get a free burger! You give your month and year for your birthday…and your reward is good your entire birthday month! Details are in the Terms and Conditions.

Publix – Publix doesn’t actually have a free birthday reward program. They offer free cookies in the bakery for kids, but I always go and ask for a cookie on my birthday, and they are happy to give me one. You can get Sprinkles or Chocolate Chip (I always get Sprinkles!)

Chick-fil-A – Join Chick-fil-A One and get a free cookie or brownie, or even a sandwich depending on their rewards level. Make sure you sign up and enter your birthday into the App at least 24 hours before your birthday! App is available for iPhone App Store or Google Play.

Special Walt Disney World Birthday Freebies!!!

As you probably know, Tonya and I are Walt Disney World Annual Passholders (and HUGE Disney nuts!!!). We regularly find ourselves at Disney around one of our birthdays and wanted to share some freebies if you happen to be in the area for your birthday!

Free Celebration Button – If your a regular…you know! If you aren’t, you can go into most “Disney” stores in Walt Disney World…in the parks and at World of Disney in Disney Springs…and get a Celebration Button…and you are celebrating Your Birthday!!!

Summer House on the Lake – This is a newer restaurant in Disney Springs that has a big walk-up cookie bar. This isn’t guaranteed, but go in (wearing your Celebration Button) and ask if they happen to offer a free birthday cookie. Chances are you will be able to get one…and they have delicious Gluten Free cookies!!!!

Sprinkles Cupcakes – There is a Sprinkles in Disney Springs, so make sure you followed the directions above!

Starbucks – The free reward only works at the Starbucks in Disney Springs…the ones in the parks are operated by Disney.
