Dovetail Acres Campground (Sister Bay, WI)
This is our favorite campground (outside of Disney’s Fort Wilderness, but that is another story and for us nothing can compete with Disney)!!! We found this gem in Door County, WI during our first visit to that part of the country. We had driven through Wisconsin when we used to camp in a 5th wheel with our kids, but never stopped to explore. This trip we got to stop at some Harvest Hosts and then worked our way up into Door County and then to Dovetail Acres Campground.
This is a great campground from which to explore all that Door County has to offer! We got to easily explore from Sturgeon Bay in the south all the way up to Washington Island up at the tip of Door County (via a short ferry ride).
We made plenty of friends while at Dovetail Acres, including a group of related family that had been going up for years (and are even coming back next summer with us…join our MostTimers Facebook Group to hear more about the Unrally we are joining fiends for up at Dovetail Acres.
The staff is also fantastic. Gave us great advice as to things to do in the area, were always helpful when we needed any supplies from their store, as well as a propane fill-up for Hobart (after a quick propane regulator repair). They were in the process of building out a restaurant at the back of the front building that looked like it was going to be a great space for lunch/dinner. We hear it should be open when we come back later this year and can’t wait to see how it turned out!
I’ll add some pictures as we dig them up from our last visit to this post later, but for now, we can help you get to the Dovetail Acres website!
