  • Hunter’s Hideaway – Large menu with nice variety of options. Has outdoor covered patio seating for nice days. Walking distance from Newmar.

Outside of Nappanee 

  • Creighton’s Crazy Egg Cafe (Warsaw) – Highly recommend. One of our favorites! Cutest cafe with fantastic food and delicious coffee! 
  • Jojo’s Pretzels (2 locations – Goshen & Shipshewana) – Homemade Soft Pretzels, including Gluten Free Pretzels!!Large variety of flavors. Be sure to try their mustard!
  • Zoup Eatery (Mishewaka) – This is a chain, but one we don’t find often. Various soup options including gluten free & vegetarian options.

Shopping

NAPPANEE AREA

  • Coppes Common (Nappanee) – Various shopping including Amish Market. Great to browse and pick up local items
  • Neighbors Merchantile (Nappanee) – Across from Main Street Roasters. After grabbing coffee, head over to Neighbors. Owned by MSR owner. Be sure to check upstairs!!! You will love the surprise you find there! Also, beautiful shop to browse. 
  • Martin’s Local Grocery Store (Nappanee)

Outside Nappanee

  • Southgate Crossing (Red Barn) – Shopping Mall with vendors of various types. You don’t want to miss this! Just seeing the structure is worth the visit!  https://southgatecrossing.info/
  • Shipshewana Market – Large building with various shops. Fun to spend some time browsing the shops. Also lots of shops in downtown Shipshewana
  • Teaberry Wood Products (2 locations – Middlebury and Shipshewana) – Wooden local handmade products including wooden baskets. You won’t be sorry for stopping by!! Definitely one of our favorites! https://www.teaberrywoodproducts.com/
  • Essenhaus Quilt Shop (Shipshewana) – For those quilters or those looking for a local made quilt, this is a fun store to browse. Also offer Antique Quilts with “personality”. www.essenhausquiltshop.com/
  • Lake Winona Area – Fun area to visit and walk around. Small town shopping and highly recommended restaurants in the area.

Events to Watch For:

  • During football season, Friday Night Lights at the high school to watch a local football game.
