Reddy Vineyards (Brownfield, TX)

We would have never thought to look for wine in northwestern Texas, but we found some great wine at Reddy Vineyards!!! What a gem of a Harvest Host!

This winery was a little bit inside the Texas border on our way west to Roswell, NM. It was a perfect location for us to pull into, work the day, try the wines and spend the night.

We had an awesome tasting experience with Veronica and even met folks with Brownfield Chamber of Commerce that were setting up for a big event the next night. Lood, their winemaker, stopped by to give us some insight to the vineyards as well. We also learned that Terry County is the Grape Capital of Texas!

We bought 3 different wines from the winery: the Hardpress, the Texas Lovers, and the Rose. We are normally sweeter wine drinkers, but these great wines convinced us to go off our normal path.

The winds were blowing fairly hard and Lood suggested we snuggle up next to the main building so that we would be protected from the worst of it. We followed his advice and had a comfortable night’s stay.
