Stinky Slinkey Upgrade (Part 2)
Part 1 of the upgrade made the Sanicon Turbo more robust (with a sleeve) and modular (with the Banjo Clamps).
Part 2 is about having an ‘extension’ that effectively doubles the length of the stinky slinkey. Most of the parts are the same as used for the initial upgrades. This blog is new-and-improved in that there is an associated YouTube video on the upgrade.
Part 2: Sanicon Turbo Extension
- Put the sleeve on the Sanicon Turbo hose
This is actually easier than doing this in Part 1 since one end of the Sanicon Turbo hose is not connected to the bus. That said, Good Luck! If you watch the video, you will see how we used the extension pole we use to wash the bus to try to make things a little easier. If you have any ideas for making this easier, please leave them in the comments!
2. Put the Banjo Clamps on the ends of the hose
Similar to Part 1, this is as simple as putting ends, one male and one female, in each side of the Sanicon Turbo hose. Use your hose clamps to tighten down the connection so there are no unexpected ‘blow-outs’!
3. Clamp the Sleeve down so it can’t slip down
To ensure that sleeve stayed extended to each end of he hose even while it extends and retracts in use, I used the bigger hose clamps that came with the Sanicon Turbo hose to clamp the sleeve down at each end.
That’s it! Here are the parts used:
